In Green Lantern news, writer extraordinaire and new Chief Creative Officer for DC Comics Geoff Johns visited the set and confirmed in a Twitter post that Mark Strong will indeed be playing Sinestro.  Strong was last seen as the adversary of Sherlock Holmes in the recent incarnation.

Superman will make his return to the big screen, under the guise of Man of Steel. After months of speculation and denial the film executives behind the future installment have approached David Goyer to help flesh out a story.  This, combined with Christopher Nolan's role as film advisor, could be a step in the right direction.

Another DC character is set to race to theaters in the future.  The Flash now has a director in Greg Berlanti, who was co-writer on the Green Lantern script with Marc Guggenheim.

With all of these decisions coming on so quickly, is it possible that DC and Warner Brothers are trying to gain momentum the way Marvel Comics has with their Avengers movie push?
